Meet Our Staff
Jiggle Sprouts has a high performing and experienced teaching staff. Each team member has been carefully selected for their experience and success working with young children.
Susan Coronel
Owner/Founder
Susan Coronel is a certified NYC elementary teacher (Grades Pre-K to 6) and certified NYS English as a Second Language teacher (grades Pre-K to 12). She also completed coursework required for certification in early childhood special education (Birth through Grade 2). She started Jiggle Sprouts in 2008, when she could not find a suitable local preschool for her older children, so decided to start her own program. She enjoys creating an environment that promotes the joy of childhood in a safe, structured setting. She is also a published writer, and her hobbies include yoga, reading, dancing and playing piano.
Tracey Wise
Teacher
Introducing Ms. Tracey! Her favorite color is green and her favorite snack is pretzels and cheese. She joined the Jiggle Sprouts team 10 years ago. Previously, she was a Head Teacher at the Salvation Army Daycare Center. She holds a BA in Human Services. Her love of teaching comes from being a mom and always wanting to help others. Her favorite times of day are morning routines and circle time, because they give her time to reflect and connect with the kids.
Mari Lopez
Teacher
This is Ms. Mari! She loves teaching because she gets to create ideas for the classroom setting, as well as to engage and promote learning skills and social and emotional development. Every day brings her joy at Jiggle Sprouts. Ms. Mari's favorite part of the day is Music Time. Singing and dancing with the children makes her smile. She joined the Jiggle Sprouts team eight years ago. She holds an Associate's degree in psychology from Kingsborough Community College and a BA in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College. Her favorite color is red, and her favorite snack is celery and peanut butter.
Kerry Steinert-Sheehan
Teacher
Introducing the newest member of our team, Ms. Kerry! She is very passionate about teaching and caring for children. She will tell you her days with your kids are fulfilling and joyful. Ms. Kerry's favorite time is going outside with the children. Before joining the Jiggle Sprouts team last year. she was a nanny for over five years, so has a special place in her heart for infants. Her favorite colors are red and green, and she thinks guacamole is the tastiest snack of all.
Margarita Varela
Teacher
Ms. Margarita returned to Jiggle Sprouts earlier this year after a brief leave and she is thrilled to be back with her Jiggle Sprouts family. Working at Jiggle Sprouts is a gratifying experience for her because it gives her a chance to make a difference in the lives of young children. She graduated with a degree in accounting from La Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, her country of origin. She is certified in New York State as a home health aide and has taken various courses about early childhood development, as well as best practices in health, safety, and nutrition. Her favorite color is blue. One of the activities she enjoys at Jiggle Sprouts is helping the children complete art and creative projects. She says that her biggest motivation is love, which inspires her to do her best in every interaction with others.
